The American Legion Riders - truly
"Riding For America's Future"
Welcome to of The American Legion Riders Chapter 519 Palm Springs CA web page.
The American Legion Riders are a diverse group of motorcycle enthusiasts sharing common goals. All are members or spouses of The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, and Sons of The American Legion—and all are united by patriotism. They answer the call to ride in service to America’s military, her veterans, and for the children and youth of our country.
The activities of The Legion Riders are limited only by the imagination of the members of the local Riders organizations, and many chapters have independently raised thousands of dollars for local children’s hospitals, schools, veterans’ homes, severely wounded servicemen and women, and American Legion scholarship programs. Since 2006, Riders have united nationally for The American Legion Legacy Run to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars each year for The American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund, established for the children of those who given their lives on active duty defending our freedoms around the world.

BE A PART OF HISTORY BEING MADE…..
For the first time ever, a consortium of the major motorcycle groups in our valley have come together through the American Legion Riders Chapter 519 for a Run For The Fallen from The American Legion Post #519 in Palm Springs to the Healing Field in Cathedral City. A large contingent of motorcycles, each of them flying the American flag, will depart the post at 11 AM on Sunday, November 9, 2008 and travel at slow speed to the Healing Field in Cathedral City. The Run For The Fallen travels through downtown Palm Springs, and then eastward on Palm Canyon Drive to Date Palm Avenue & the Healing Field in Cathedral City. Leading the procession over the 10 mile route will be the personal American Flags dedicated to those local soldiers who have lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan. They will be installed in their own place of honor at Patriot Park within the Healing Field at the corner of Date Palm and Dinah Shore and will be dedicated along with the approximately 4600 other flags at noon on Sunday, November 9, 2008. The Base Commanding General of 29 Palms Marine Base will preside over the dedication and the public is invited, welcomed, and urged to participate in this emotionally moving event.
